Adapt. Include. Move.: Assistive technology hack for Adapted PE – Momentary Foot Switch

Adapt. Include. Move.: Assistive technology hack for Adapted PE – Momentary Foot Switch

Assistive Technology

Originally saw this idea from Brad with PE Learn & Play – definitely make sure you’re following him! But if you don’t have a Powerlink and are looking for another cheap way to incorporate assistive technology for students with limited mobility, this is another great hack for a very reasonable price. This is a momentary foot switch. It plugs directly into your electronic device and then into the wall. Like some of the other hacks, this won’t be as sensitive as a true switch. It will also only work in direct mode meaning the electronic device will only stay turned on for as long as the foot switch is activated. But it is definitely a great option for individuals who have mobility in their hand/foot to push the switch.
