Maryland's APE community is bringing it this May — a free virtual session on starting an adapted sports league, and a statewide "May is for Movement" celebration showing how everyBODY belongs.
MAPEC Spring Movement: Two Events You Don't Want to Miss
The Maryland Adapted Physical Education Consortium (MAPEC) is closing out the school year strong with two back-to-back opportunities for the Adapted PE community. MAPEC is open to everyone — you don't have to teach in Maryland to join, learn, and connect. Whether you're across the state line or across the country, you're welcome.
🎙️ May 13 — Live Zoom with Korey Kleinhans
Join MAPEC for an interactive evening session with Korey Kleinhans, a respected voice in the Adapted PE field. Bring your questions, your students' stories, and your curiosity. These small-group MAPEC sessions are always where the best conversations happen — and educators from any state are encouraged to attend.
🏃 May 17–31 — "May is for Movement"
A nationwide push from MAPEC and SHAPE Maryland celebrating movement, inclusion, and the educators who make Adapted PE happen every day. Share photos, tag your colleagues, and show what movement looks like in your gym, on your field, and in your community — wherever you teach.
How to participate
- Register for the May 13 Zoom through MAPEC's Instagram bio link — open to all educators
- Post your "May is for Movement" content May 17–31
