🤖 About The APE Advocate Bot
The APE Advocate is an interactive chatbot created to help parents, educators, and administrators navigate questions about Adapted Physical Education (APE)—including evaluations, eligibility, IEP services, and students’ rights to physical education. This project is a collaboration between Brad Weiner of MyPhysicalEducator.com and Matt Barker of JustAdaptIt.com, both experienced professionals dedicated to supporting inclusive physical education practices.
The bot draws directly from key legal frameworks such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It also references official guidance and case law to help clarify what schools are required to provide and how families and educators can advocate effectively.
The APE Advocate is still in development. While it offers responses grounded in federal law and public guidance, it is not a lawyer and does not offer legal advice. Users are encouraged to verify information with their local school districts and seek support from qualified professionals or legal advisors when needed.
👉 To get started, simply type your question into the box on the right. Whether you’re asking about evaluations, IEPs, service minutes, or how APE works in your setting—The APE Advocate is here to help.
