HS1: Fitness & Conditioning
Fitness and Conditioning is an adapted physical education unit specially designed for high school students with diverse needs. The primary objective of this unit is to promote physical fitness, enhance motor skills, and improve overall well-being among students. By tailoring activities to individual capabilities and interests, we aim to make fitness both accessible and enjoyable for all.
Learning Objectives:
Physical Fitness: Students will understand the components of physical fitness, including cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition.
Skill Development: Students will develop and improve basic motor skills such as coordination, balance, agility, and spatial awareness.
Personalized Fitness Goals: Each student will set and work towards individual fitness goals, taking into consideration their unique abilities and challenges.
Safety Awareness: Students will learn the importance of safety in physical activities, including proper equipment usage, warm-ups, and cool-down techniques.
Inclusive Participation: Students will learn to respect and support the diverse abilities of their peers, fostering an environment of inclusivity and collaboration.
